The specific requirements of multi-camera shoots are often overlooked by other rental companies that focus on just the basics. Clark HD has been providing flexible and modular systems to support multi-camera productions of all sizes.

Our engineers design, build, and actually engineer our systems in the field. They know first-hand what is necessary for the rapidly changing demands of field production.

Advanced HD Systems

For larger HD productions that require longer cable runs and longer lens, we have designed and built a system around the industry standard HDC-1500 cameras. These cameras provide all HD formats by using the highest resolution 1080/60P sensor. Resident in the system are (16) Cobalt – HD-SD downconverters with full aspect ratio conversion. This enables the client to choose a mixture of anamorphic, letter-box, or center-cut images depending on particular needs.

Our custom switcher cube features all necessary HD-SDI distribution and routing and uses a  Sony MVS-7000X 4ME HD production switcher. This multiple camera system is perfect for productions that require a higher count of cameras, graphics and playback sources.

Depending on the application, we can provide the option of a traditional monitor wall using small LCD or CRT monitors. We also use an Evertz multi-viewer that drives a pair of 50” LDC monitors. The Evertz is extremely flexible and can easily be re-mapped for different layout patterns.

Compact HD systems

For compact multiple camera HD productions, Clark has designed a system that interfaces with Panasonic P-2 camcorders and Sony PDW-F800 XDCAM –HD camcorders. These cameras are perfect for entertainment and broadcast productions that require a smaller footprint. In addition, the engineers at Clark have built custom interface boxes and cables that allow for intercom, paint, tally, audio, and power down a single multi-conductor harness. This flexible system provides full engineering control of the camcorders from a centralized engineering position. Clark has all the additional accessories like studio zoom/focus controls, studio viewfinders and Vinten Pro-Ped Pedestals.

Clark Media can also provide a Panasonic 400A HD switcher to produce a line cut that can be recorded to any HD format required. (See our HD recorder page for options.)
